Popular enterprise-based blockchain, VeChain has revealed that De Cecco, the world’s third-largest pasta manufacturer will be using DNV GL’s My Care, a ToolChain-powered verification methodology to safeguard the health and safety of its customers and employees.

Italy has been one of the worst COVID-19 hit countries in Europe. By adopting the My Care methodology, De Cecco hopes to reinforce its strengths and spot opportunities for improving processes geared towards the prevention of COVID-19. Consequently, the company’s pasta factories of Fara San Martino and Ortona, its olive oil mills, and its business center in Pescara will benefit from this collaboration.

Whilst commenting on the company’s adoption of My Care, Vincenzo Ponte, Insurance Manager Quality and Self-control Systems at De Cecco stressed the company’s commitment to creating a safe working environment for everyone in its system. He added:

To make sure we have reached an adequate level of safety and the ability to give our operators and collaborators evidence of our commitment and product quality, we required DNV GL to provide verification with correct application and effectiveness.

VeChain’s ToolChain is already powering solutions in the maritime and hotel industry. With this latest addition, customers can obtain a DNV GL My Care assessment statement by scanning the QR-code on the product. The data is stored on the VeChainThor blockchain.
